It's very interesting to see arguments crumble when you ask to see the evidence :-)

As for the witch hunt, I've been privy to a few myself. Not nice. But retrospectively creating, compiling & completing the test scripts put the villagers & their pitchforks off the scent... (Further making a mockery of the templates)

Thanks again for taking the time to write & share your thoughts.

Duncs Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13734686574367515881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5948141587422980338.post-91746983518412662302014-05-31T15:19:28.334+02:002014-05-31T15:19:28.334+02:00Hi Simon - good piece. I was concerned about an appeal to fear made in Stuart's talk, which I then repeated in my tweet about the CEO being asked about standards.

It's important we challenge that appeal to fear in the way you've done. The appeal isn't directed at the CEO's. It's aimed at purchasers who don't really understand testing, as Stuart admitted. ISO 29119 will make it easier for people who know nothing about testing to buy testing services, and they might be vulnerable to scare tactics. Buy ISO 29119 and expensive consultancy to roll it out, or it could cost you your job. That was the underlying message.
James ChristieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5948141587422980338.post-70033570554077162352014-05-29T14:24:23.341+02:002014-05-29T14:24:23.341+02:00Good post that neatly takes things apart - well wr...Good post that neatly takes things apart - well written.
